About us
The Fasiuddin Khan Research Foundation (FKRF) is a social enterprise founded in 2009 with the aim of improving healthcare access and quality in Bangladesh. It is registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies and Firms. It is specialized in research, project management, awareness & advocacy, and service provision to facilitate social innovation for poverty alleviation. Our extensive engagement on research helps us gain valuable insights and analytics that we use to design development strategies targeted towards results. We venture into project implementation to test our strategies and learn from realities. This helps us adopt improved approach for awareness & advocacy, education & training and project management strategies. It operates in urban, rural, and vulnerable areas to serve patients and families in need. We adopt a holistic approach to our activities, which helps us provide development solutions grounded on sound technical and theoretical knowledge, practical application, and implementation challenges. We conduct adaptive research, advice on strategies and implement interventions for multilateral and bilateral agencies, government agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and development programs

The FKRF envisions a world full of compassion where everyone, including those in urban slums, rural and vulnerable contexts, has access to the resources needed for optimal health and well-being, regardless of their socio-economic status.

The mission of FKRF is to empower patients and families with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses by alleviating their serious health-related sufferings in urban, rural and vulnerable contexts by providing access to health services, education and training opportunities, and innovative solutions to address the challenges of a rapidly changing world. Category B - Social Support & Poverty Alleviation
Rabeya’s husband passed away 55 days ago due to a non-communicable disease. She has five children, ranging in age from 13 years old to 4 years old. To provide for her family, Rabeya had been working as a cleaner in a multi-storied building, but unfortunately lost her job after missing work for 40 days following her husband’s death. However, she was able to receive support from the FKRF, who provided her with a sewing machine to help her support herself and her children. As of February 1, 2023, Rabeya is making the best of her circumstances.

Training on Palliative Care at the Rohingya Refugee Camps, Organized by the UN-IOM, Cox’s Bazar. September, 2022
Quality of care is a global commitment and palliative care is an essential health service under Universal Health Coverage. However, ensuring access to palliative care interventions have been a challenge for refugees living in low- and middle-income country (LMIC) humanitarian settings.
The literature describing the need for and the delivery of palliative care is limited and no work has assessed the quality of palliative care till now. While much has been written and researched on the availability, accessibility and affordability of personal protective equipment for health workers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, there is very little evidence on the ways in which health workers see themselves, and engage in self-preparedness on different levels including, social, emotional, mental and practical. This research about quality palliative care in LMIC humanitarian context is timely and important.
আমি হাসিনা করিম। ঢাকা ইউনিভার্সিটি থেকে সাইকোলজিতে মাস্টার্স করেছি। শিক্ষক হিসেবে কাটিয়েছি জীবন এর অনেকটা সময়। সব সময় ইচ্ছে ছিল ভাল কোন কাজের সাথে নিজেকে যুক্ত করার। ফসিউদ্দিন খান রিসার্চ ফাউন্ডেশন আমাকে সে সুযোগ করে দিয়েছে। এ সেচ্ছাসেবী প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে আমি বিভিন্ন ধরনের রিসার্চ প্রোগ্রামে অংশ নিয়েছি। সে এক দারুণ অভিজ্ঞতা!
মানুষের জীবন এর শেষ দিনগুলো ব্যথা শূন্য করার প্রচেষ্টায় যথেষ্ট আন্তরিক এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের কর্মীবৃন্দ।
সেজন্য তাঁরা বিভিন্ন ধরনের সেবা দিয়ে থাকেন। এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের জন্য শুভকামনা।
আমি মমতাজ মোতালেব মেরী। আমার শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতা এম.এস.সি(প্রাণি বিদ্যা), বিএড।আমি একটা স্কুলে ৩০ বছর কাজ করেছি।আমি FKRF শুরু থেকে জড়িত। এখানে কাজ করে খুবই আনন্দিত। কেননা এটা এমন একটি প্রতিষ্ঠান যেখানে এমন অসুস্থ মানুষদের নিয়ে কাজ করা হয় যাদের সম্পুর্ন সুস্থ করে তোলা সম্ভব না কিন্তু তাদের কষ্ট লাঘব করার চেষ্টা করা হয়।তাদের মনের জোরবাড়ানো সম্ভব। তাদের এই অসুস্থতার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করার শক্তি যোগান দেয়া হয়।এই প্রতিষ্ঠানে কাজ করে আমি নিজেকে সৌভাগ্যবান মনে করি।এই প্রতিষ্ঠানে কাজ করলে অন্য রকম একটা সুখ অনুভব করা যায়।
আমি শারমিন আক্তার মারিয়া।ইডেন কলেজ থেকে গার্হস্থ্য অর্থনীতিতে মাস্টার্স করেছি। জীবনের কর্মক্ষেত্র হিসেবে শিক্ষকতাকে বেছে নিয়েছিলাম।শিক্ষক হিসেবে আছি একটি স্কুলে। সব সময় কাজের মধ্যে নিজেকে ব্যস্ত রাখতে ভালো লাগে। ফসিউদ্দিন খান রিসার্চ ফাউন্ডেশনে দেখেছি মানুষ মানুষের জন্য কষ্ট লাঘবে কিভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।সেচ্ছাসেবী প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে আমার বিভিন্ন ধরনের প্রোগ্রামে অংশ গ্ৰহনের সুযোগ হয়েছিল। কষ্ট জর্জরিত মানুষের সম্পর্কে জানার ও মানুষের বিভিন্ন সমস্যা নিজের চোখে দেখেছি।
তাদের দেখেছি বিভিন্ন ধরনের সেবা দিতে। এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের মাধ্যমে মানুষের জীবনের শেষ সময় টুকুকে আনন্দময় ও সুখকর করতে নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছে প্রতিষ্ঠানের সংশ্লিষ্ট সকল সদস্যরা। এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের উত্তরোত্তর উন্নতি কামনা করছি।
আমি সুফিয়া বেগম। জগন্নাথ বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় থেকে সাইকোলজিতে মাস্টার্স করেছি। নিজের জীবনটা একটা নিয়মের মধ্যে চালাতে চেষ্টা করি। আমি একটি স্কুলে শিক্ষকতায় আছি। শিক্ষকতা জীবনে ১৮ বছর চলছে। আমার শখ বাগান করা। ফসিউদ্দিন খান রিসার্চ ফাউন্ডেশন একটি সেচ্ছাসেবী প্রতিষ্ঠান। আমি এই সেচ্ছাসেবী প্রতিষ্ঠানের সাথে যুক্ত হয়ে দেখেছি তারা কিভাবে মানুষকে বিভিন্ন ধরনের সেবা দিয়ে থাকেন।এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের সংশ্লিষ্ট সদস্যরা মানুষের জীবনের শেষ সময়টুকুকে আনন্দময়ও সুখকর করে তুলতে নিরলস ভাবে কাজ করে যাচ্ছেন।তাদের এই কাজকে আমি সম্মান করি। এই প্রতিষ্ঠানের জন্য অনেক দোয়া আর শুভ কামনা রইলো।
